The Adventures of Tintin is based on a series of comics created by Belgian artist Georges Remi, who wrote under the pen name of Herg. In the feature film adaptation Tintin and his friends discover directions to a sunken ship commanded by Capt. Haddock's ancestor and go off on a treasure hunt adventure to find it!
Was it good?
To be honest I’ve never been a huge Tintin fan, but having seen the film four times I would definitely say the feature film is great and certainly well worth watching if you and your family need to be entertained for an hour or so on a Sunday afternoon!
The first thing that hit me about the film when I first watched it was the pure quality of the animation (which captures the actors movements perfectly) and graphical effects, it’s some of the most realistic CGI I’ve ever seen since Toy Story 3.
However strip away the graphics and you’ll find the real reason for Tintin’s success is the story itself and the voice acting that goes with it! With British Stars Jamie Bell (who plays Tintin) and Daniel Craig, who plays the villain of the piece, the film shines!
If you love adventure, mixed in with a dab of action and brilliant storytelling – directed superbly by the master of storytelling, Steven Spielberg, then you and your family will be in for a treat!
