Shuttle - known for their dinky form factor PC's - has developed a computer which will be used in a competition in the build up to the release of the fifth part of "Alone in the Dark" game series from Atari.
The design of the fully equipped and worldwide one-off special edition has been developed in cooperation with Atari. The housing cover and front panel of the mini PC displays scenes and elements from the game.
In a complex procedure, the mini PC has been furnished with different images to create a visual depth that with the help of the game's dark atmosphere pulls the player into its spell.
"As the European-wide start of sales for Alone in the Dark begins, Atari and Shuttle are offering this unique chance to win," explains Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR, Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. "The value of this unique prize cannot be expressed in figures."
The Shuttle XPC Mini PC complete system comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, piles of memory (the blur was not specific on the exact amount - sorry), and a quick graphics card (again not much explanation).
An XPC Barebone SG31G5 provides the platform for the mini PC.
From Friday 13 June to 7 July 2008 visitors to Shuttle's European website have the chance to win this exclusive mini PC together with the PC game. Anyone taking part in the competition has to correctly answer three questions on the game and then cross their fingers.
