Description
When EA sent us the Complete Battlefield Collection Edition, which features all the expansion and booster packs ever released for Battlefield 2, it was perfect timing as it gave us chance to visit some of the booster packs that we had never had the chance to purchase.

As mentioned the Complete Edition brings together all the previous expansion packs, so you have Special Forces, Euro forces and Armored Fury add-ons, plus the original game of course.

For those who are new to the world of Battlefield2 the game is played in First Person and you can either compete against Bots in a single player mode (which we recommend for newbie’s to get used to the game) and online in Multiplayer, which is the main reason for buying the game. You and your fellow team mates have to capture key flag points around the maps, the team who captures all the flags or reduced the opposition score to zero will win.

When you join a server from a list of thousands, you get to fight as one of seven different kits, these range from Special Forces to Ant-tank. Each kit has its own abilities, so for example if you are a medic you can drop medic packs for your fellow troops or revive people if they are partially dead on the floor.

The Engineers can repair vehicles or drop mines and the Special Forces can plant C4 to take out the enemy commanders UAV and Artillery weapons.

As you progress through the game you can gain awards, such as medals for coming first
or badges for repairing a certain amount of vehicles during a round, all these points are recorded on EA's server and can be used to help you gain promotions which can gleam you additional unlocked weapons.

The weapons in the game are varied, each kit has a choice of three weapons (which only appear if you have gained the unlocks) which can be selected at the start of each round or changed during the game if you die, you can even pick up a dead players kit off the ground which adds to the tactics of the game.

All the weapons are different for each character, so for example as an Anti-tank kit you get a choice of an MP5 weapon as your primary starting weapon, which is joined by your Anti-tank rocket and pistol, as you gain additional ranks you can upgrade to a super shotgun or a P90.

Having progressive unlocks is one of the reasons why the game has lasted this long, as it gives you something to aim at.

As well as the weapons you can fly, drive and mount land based defensive weapons, such as jetfighters, attack helicopters, tanks, jeeps, APC's and anti-aircraft vehicles to name but a few.
