Multiplay - organisers of the largest UK electronic games festivals - have announced that Activision Publishing will be attending i35 and showcasing Call of Duty: World at War, the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise, due out on EU store shelves on November 14th.
i35 is a 1,300 player "bring your own computer" LAN party with over £20,000 in prizes up for grabs.
Built utilising the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine, Call of Duty: World at War thrusts players into the ruthless and gritty chaos of WWII combat, challenging them to band together to survive the most harrowing and climactic battles of WWII. The game re-defines WWII games by offering an uncensored experience with unique enemies and combat variety, including Kamikaze fighters, ambush attacks, Banzai charges and cunning cover tactics, as well as explosive on-screen action through all new co-operative gameplay.
"We are incredibly excited about Call of Duty: World at War," said Craig Fletcher, Managing Director of Multiplay. "The i-Series has had a loyal Call of Duty following for years and gamers turn up in droves to sit down and play Call of Duty all weekend – we can't wait to see where it's headed next".
Activision will bring banks of Xbox 360's for gamers to play on, as well as the chance to talk with members of the Activision team face-to-face about the game itself.
i35 takes place from October 31st to November 3rd 2008 at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire. For more information see http://i35.multiplay.co.uk which features the latest news and ticket information for the event.
