NAVTEQ is showcasing a broad scope of cutting–edge content and technology in a range of mapping solutions and devices at the 2009 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (stand 1G45, Hall 1).
The stand features two distinct demonstration areas: NAVTEQ product and services, including a pedestrian navigation area featuring brand name devices and navigation systems powered by NAVTEQ Discover Cities; and a customer zone showcasing the latest built-in and mobile navigation offerings from five major mobile navigation players.
NAVTEQ Discover Cities: With availability in 86 cities around the world, NAVTEQ Discover Cities extends the power of the NAVTEQ map with pedestrian-relevant attributes like walkways, pathways, cross-walks, tunnels and other features necessary to optimise routing through pedestrian thoroughfares.
In addition, NAVTEQ Discover Cities includes extensive public transport information, which helps navigation systems deliver a variety of route options to users -- including routes entirely on foot, or with portions involving public transport. Applications from Navitime, Nokia, Networks in Motion, Samsung and Senda, all featuring NAVTEQ Discover Cities, are being displayed on the NAVTEQ stand.
NAVTEQ Traffic: This offers three types of critical traffic information--planned incidents, unplanned incidents and flow - all aggregated from multiple, proven sources and delivered in one feed.
Dynamic POI (Points of Interest) Content: The company’s dynamic POI content portfolio will include Air Travel Status, and in North America, Fuel Prices and Movie/Event Listings. Air Travel Status provides information such as flight arrival and departure times, as well as other travel-related information such as overall airport status and airport weather conditions. These products are designed for quick and flexible integration into location-aware applications and are supported by NAVTEQ’s 24x7 technical teams.
NAVTEQ LocationPoint Advertising: A new mobile location-based advertising service that offers location-aware applications. The service enables advertisers to reach and engage consumers where and when they are making shopping and purchasing decisions. Additionally, advertisers are able to proactively promote their locations with interactive targeting of consumers in the vicinity of their storefronts. NAVTEQ MapTP Location Portal Solution: The NAVTEQ Map Transfer Protocol (TP) Location Portal Solution is a white-label geospatial web portal solution, incorporating route planning, truly interactive / fast mapping, content integration and search.
