Zotac has announced today massive performance gains on NVIDIA’s GTX 280 high-end graphics card. The Zotac GTX 280 AMP! Edition boasts the world’s fastest core clock speed topping a stunning 700MHz out of the box, so-far unbeaten by any other manufacturer.
“Yet again Zotac has demonstrated its ability to design and engineer the fastest card on the market” claimed Carsten Berger, Marketing Director, Zotac, “Overclocking the GTX 280’s core by almost 100MHz is a fantastic achievement, but to then mass produce it and maintain a 5 year warranty is outstanding”.
Priced around £20-30 higher than a standard GTX 280, the AMP! Edition offers over a 12% performance hike for less than a 5% price increase, while Zotac’s standard GTX 280 card remains one of the lowest priced in the market.
Zotac is also bundling Codemaster’s Racedriver: GRID game with both the GTX 280 and GTX 280 AMP! Edition.
The results were calculated from benchmarks conducted by techpowerup.com, 12.63% performance increase in FEAR (2048x1536, 4xAA, 16xAF).
