If your hard drive is about to fail or has completely gone bust you are not likely to know the signs if you are a beginner.

Hitachi's technical site has produced several Wav (audio) files which play the most common noises you are likely to hear when the drive is knackered or is on its last legs.

For techies you will get a bit of a laugh as well as cold shivers, reminding you when your server hard drives went down the pan.
