Iomega today announced the availability of the Iomega REV Loader 280, a new desktop autoloader that should solve the backup and archive needs of small businesses.
Utilizing standard hard drive components and removable technology the new REV Loader 280 provides access to 280GB (560GB compressed) of storage, managing up to eight removable 35GB REV drives in an compact desktop form factor less than 7 inches tall and 5 inches wide.
The REV Loader 280 connects to a server through a USB 2.0 interface, making it easy to use as a backup and archive device for multiple computers on a network -- and far easier and less expensive than traditional SCSI-based tape drives.
Bundled with the REV Loader 280 is a license for CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Windows, including support for disaster recovery.
