Description
Jabra's BT620s are A2DP compatible Bluetooth Stereo headphones which allows you to listen to music wirelessly.

Jabra are normally associated with mobile accessories and to some extent this theme is transferred to the BT620 headphones as they allow you to answer phone calls at the touch of a button.

However their main function is to listen to music but before you can do this you need to make sure your mobile device can support the A2DP profile or the AVRCP (remote control) for headset and hands free profile.

In English if your device does not support these techie terms your headphones are not going to work properly. In most cases all you need is a bit of software to provide support for the A2DP profile. In Palms case you can use a piece of software called Softick Audio Gateway.

Weighing in at 100g these headphones are nearly as heavy as most mobiles and this poses problems when you are wearing them. For those who wear glasses you are going to have to suffer some discomfort as the wrap around affect of the Jabras push against your frames. Even if you don't wear glasses they still feel uncomfortable to wear after long periods of use.

Connecting the headphones can be done in two ways, either using the supplied 2meter USB cable or pairing them via Bluetooth. The latter is a piece of cake if you follow the simple instructions in the manual.

To the side of the headphones are two large buttons which flash on and off in a cool blue neon light when listening to music - however you can turn this feature off as you tend to look a bit silly when its flashing.

They large buttons at the side also function for answering phone calls or for playing/pausing music. Other controls at the top control volume and forward/back functions.

Sound quality was pretty good when connected through USB, but we did fee that the bass kind of washed out the treble during play back of certain rock/dance tracks. When paired via Bluetooth via our mobile or Palm we could hear a hissing noise coming from the headphones which a lot of earlier reviews have pointed out. However this problem has recently been addressed in the latest patch which you can get here. When listening via Bluetooth you get up to 10 meters range which allowed us to move about most rooms whilst listening to music.

When you do get a phone call you can press the answer release button and it cuts off the music allowing you to talk, the voice quality was not bad but the weight of the headphones once again makes wanting to talk a short affair.

Battery wise it claims to have up to 240h standby,up to 16 hours talk time and up to 14 hours music streaming, so this should be enough juice before you need to recharge the unit via the supplied mains adaptor or USB cable.

Overall the quality of the Jabra BT620s is pretty good and the latest update certainly helps with curing the annoying background hissing problem. It's just a pity that they are uncomfortable to use for long periods and that the bass is maybe a bit to dominating for our liking.
