 ATEN International - a designer, manufacturer and distributor of advanced connectivity solutions - has introduced its new 2- and 4-Port HDMI Splitters - the VS182 and VS184.
The VS182 / VS184 splitters are an extremely scalable solution with the capability to send the signal to up to 64 display devices when installed in a cascade.
ATEN's VS182 / VS184 video splitters are especially designed for environments in which the signal of one HDMI A/V source needs to be delivered to multiple video devices.
VS182 and VS184 support all HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) equipment, such as DVD or Blu-ray players, digital camcorders, video game consoles, satellite set-top boxes as input source, and all HDMI displays, projectors, monitors or HDTVs as output destination.
Thus, they are a possible solution for presentations in corporate, educational, commercial environments and the like, but could also be used in demanding home theatres.
VS182 and VS184 use the latest 1.3b standards for HDMI, are HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) 1.1 compliant and DDC (Display Data Channel) compatible.
They support 12-bit Deep Color for HDMI formats, with a HDMI video resolution of 1080p for HDTV, VGA, SVGA, SXGA, UXGA (1600x1200) and WUXGA (1920x1200) for computers.
With the VS182 and VS184, distance limitations are removed as they will boost the video signal for long distance transmission to displays up to 20 meters (24 AWG) or 15 meters (28 AWG) away.
Furthermore, both splitters support Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio for ultimate sound clarity.

The MSRP for VS182 is GBP £69.90 and GBP £119.90 for the VS184, both prices excluding VAT.
