The boffins at Sony have announced the launch of three new receiver models: the STR-DG510, STR-DG710 and STR-DG910.
The new receivers are designed to form a hub for any home entertainment system, and appeal to everyone from first-time flatscreen buyers to committed gamers. And thanks to the DM Port system, users can even connect a mobile phone, Network WALKMAN or computer to the receiver, and play the sound out through their speakers.
Sony engineers have designed the new models to be as simple as possible to use, without compromising sound quality. All three receivers – the STR-DG510, STR-DG710 and range-topping STR-DG910 – have fully automatic set-up to match the sound to the user’s room and speaker layout, using the Digital Cinema Auto Calibration system first seen in the ES receiver range.
They also offer one-cable connection between receiver and TV, via HDMI switching. Buyers of the STR-DG710 and STR-DG910 will also be able to control their whole Sony system – DVD player, receiver and TV – using one remote control, with the new Bravia Theatre Sync technology built into these models.
