Description
We have been swamped with BT Keyboards this month and like the Celluon Virtual keyboard (we reviewed earlier) the Eleksen tries to offer something a touch different.

Essentially the Eleksen full Qwerty keyboard is made of fabric, yes we kid you not.

To the left of the device you have a plastic box which holds the battery and is used for the fabric to wrap around when transporting.

As you can guess the Keyboard is light, weighing 68g and measuring 114 x 306 mm (H x W) when open and 126 x 48 x 32 mm (H, W, D) when closed.

Inside the box you get a protective bag, a small CD with the drivers and a piece of expandable plastic that is used to hold your device in place, this could accommodate a device the size of a HTC P3600 for example.

Installing the drivers and linking up the keyboard via BT was easy as pie and in order to begin typing you simply have to roll the keyboard onto a flat surface (the keyboard itself is pretty large, as the images in the gallery show). So again it’s limited to being used on a desk as it’s not practical to use on your lap.

The keyboard itself does not contain any shortcut keys, nor can you use the driver to customise any.

It takes a while to get used to the keyboard as key presses feel a bit strange - due to you pressing against a hard surface - so its responsiveness is not as good as a proper keyboard, but it does work after practise.

The device uses 2 x AAA batteries and the manufacturer claims 10 hours of continuous use, so its gona cost on the battery front if you keep using the keyboard.

The Elekson is a smart idea, it's still only practical to use the keyboard on a desk, but it does provide an ultra portable way of expanding the usefulness of your PDA or smartphone.
