Description
If you are looking to pass your drivers theory test there are several apps available on the App store that can provide a solution. We decided to take a look at AA's offering and for the £1.79 asking price you should find this a sound investment.

However a few qualms we did have with the app at the start was that by default the interface is adorned in their standard yellow and black colours, which in some ways made it feel more like a marketing tool rather than enhancing the overall interface. A different choice of colours would also have been useful when required to select multiple answers.

We were also surprised to see advertising in place for their own driving school at the base of the screen, which in our eyes could have been implemented a little more secretly given that you have paid £1.79 for the app.

Despite this the package provides everything you need to pass your theory test. From the front screen you can either select and review all the current questions, practice your theory test or take an actual mock theory test, here you are given 50 questions that need to be answered in under 50 mins.

We found its best to head to the practice theory test first before you go rushing into the main theory test, this way you can pick from multiple categories to hone your skills before being bombarded with tons of questions.

Here you will find several categories to choose from ranging from Accidents to Attitude, each one shows you your current progression, along with the number of questions answered correctly.

If you ever get a question wrong you can either try again or get the software to reveal the answer to you (along with an educational explanation).

The software also displays road signs and other pictures relating to road conditions, which can be taped on to get a larger view. Most images were easy on the eye, though on a couple of images it would have been nice to zoom into these further to get more detail.

You can rotate the screen to landscape for a better look but we noticed that when going onto the next question it would not format the screen properly, so we had to rotate the screen to portrait mode and then back again to sort the problem.

AA drivers theory test at the end of the day does what is says on the tin, its got a slight glitch with the landscape option, but it should still prove useful as an educational app for new and even experienced drivers who are looking to update their knowledge of road safety.
