Being a virtual keyboard means that the projection device is going to be pretty small and it is, measuring 93 x 39 x 37mm (H, W, D) and weighing 109g.

Inside the box you get a protective carrying case, a mains charger, CD with the installation drivers and a manual.

As the above gives the game away, the Celluon does not use separate batteries, so you can charge up the unit via the mains instead.

However when all is said and done the idea of having a virtual keyboard sounds cool, but in practise it just doesn’t work.

Pairing up the device via Bluetooth is straight forward but you have to ensure there is enough distance for the red laser system to project the keyboard onto a flat surface.

And when we say flat it has to be just this, as we did try projecting the keyboard onto our carpet and yes we had fun projecting the keyboard onto our wall, but as you can see its very limited on the surface that you can use the device on (forget using this on your lap).

Installing the software was easy enough, but on the PocketPC you have to activate the keyboard as an option found under the virtual keyboard drop down menu.

Actually using the keyboard takes some getting used to. You have to position your hands in such a way to avoid the wrong keys from being pressed, so for example when we thought we had pressed a T, it produced a G instead.

It does have shortcut keys for Pocket PC/Palm and even a virtual mouse pointer (OS dependant), but we had problems getting these to work.
