Description
We have been testing the Humax 22" LCD TV for a few weeks now, so we thought we would bring you our views on the screen, which is technically marketed as a TV-set for your spare room/bedroom.

Box Content

Inside the box you get a user manual and a remote control for accessing the channels, the teletext, interactive options and any adjustments to settings. You don't get an aerial supplied in the box , so we used our own for testing.

Setup

As there was no supplied aerial in the box we used our roof aerial for the initial setup.

For new users or for those who struggle setting up TV's you will have no problems with the Humax, as its setup was a piece of cake. As soon as you plug in the RF aerial and power on the screen it will go into the setup wizard, where it will at first scan the analogue channels, store these and then scan for digital channels.

Once the channels are up we did have to spend a bit of time adjusting the brightness, contrast and sharpness settings, but there are a few options that you can flip between such as mild, standard and dynamic, which will automatically adjust the screen display.

Ports/Features

The Humax has a great selection of connectivity ports, you have 1 x RGB Scart, 1 x HDMI Input, 1 x S-VIDEO Input, 1 x COMPONENT Input, 1 x COMPOSITE Input, 1 x PC Input, 1 x
PC AUDIO Input, 1 x HEAD PHONE Output and 1 CAM Slot. The latter is used for adding additional channels or for accessing encrypted programs such as SETANTA Sports.

The TV also features an alarm option to get you up in the morning (turns on the box) an Electronic Program Guide (EPG), on-screen information about the channel you are watching. Telextext on selected channels, iterative Red Button control on selected programs and 700 yes 700+ radio stations to choose from.

The remote control is on the large size, so for those with small hands you will struggle to grasp the control. But its build quality was good, with comfortable to use buttons.
