Two new digital photo frames by Sony have been launched, namely the DPF D100, which boasts a glossy black finish, plus a 10.2-inch LCD screen and the 8-inch DPF D80, that’s available in a choice of black or brown finishes to complement family rooms, bedrooms or studies.
Both frames feature a high quality SVGA screen (800x600, 4:3 format) that should display photo-realistic images with great contrast, detailing and natural colours.
Plus a smart orientation sensor in all models automatically ‘flips’ images so they’re always displayed correctly, whether the frame has been positioned in portrait or landscape format.
There is even support for all popular media cards (MS, MS Duo, SD, CF and xD) which makes it easy to transfer images directly from your digital camera. Alternatively you can hook up your computer via USB and download photos from your PC’s hard drive.
The frame’s internal 256MB memory offers storage space for up to 500 pictures. Large image files are automatically re-scaled for better quality - whilst maximising album capacity.
There’s also a clock/calendar mode that offers an alternative to displaying your photos. Then you have a handy wireless remote, which has been designed to make it easier to adjust settings and switch between slideshow, clock and calendar display modes.
DPF-D80 and DPF-D100 digital photo frames will be available from October 2008 - no price details as of yet.
