This is good news, finally O2 are releasing the iPhone3G on PAYG, which could prove useful for those who want to get their hands on the platform but are put off by lengthy contracts.
By the looks of things Pay & Go customer will need to shell out £349.99 for the iPhone 3G 8GB and £399.99 for the 16GB version - which will place the devices inline with other Windows Mobile/Symbian phones.
However the price will also include unlimited browsing and Wi-Fi for the first 12 months after you activate your iPhone 3G. At the end of the 12 months you can continue to receive unlimited browsing and Wi-Fi for just £10 per month which we think it great value for money considering the devices main use will be for multimedia and data.
It will be available to buy from 16th September in O2 stores, The Carphone Warehouse and Apple stores.
Though it seems visual voicemail and call merging are not going to be available with Pay & Go. You'll also need to change your data settings to use services such as Mobile Internet.
