Windows Mobile 6.1 Arrives Later This YearIt seems that Microsoft have announced plans to rollout and updated version of its Windows Mobile Platform.

The new software – which will simply be known as Windows Mobile 6.1 – includes e-mail, Web-access, instant messaging, traffic updates, photo capabilities, music and the ability to edit documents.

As well as the above the home screen is set to get a polish and its web browser is said to offer a more desktop experience.

Microsoft indicates the updated software is scheduled to be available in late spring of 2008.

The update announcement was made during the CTIA (Cellular Telephone Industry Association) convention in Las Vegas.
