The O2 to Host UK’s First Virtual Reality Gaming Suite - VR Zone Portal London @ Hollywood Bowl, The O2

From August, Hollywood Bowl at The O2 is set to host the UK’s first ever, high quality, virtual reality gaming suite. Guests to the new installation, located inside Hollywood Bowl, will be able to enter a world of virtual reality gaming via goggles, headphones and censored controls, within the purposely built gaming suite.

The installation is being rolled out by Hollywood Bowl and Japanese arcade giant’s Bandai Namco, as a part of BANDAI NAMCO global roll out of VR Zone Portal in flagship locations and sees the duo trailblazing virtual reality in a way no other leisure company in the UK has done previously.

The UK’s first high quality virtual reality gaming experience will give guests an opportunity to choose between two brand-new out of home gaming experiences:

  • Argyle Shift  13+

Set in A.D.2145, players have the opportunity to pilot a giant robot and are responsible for delivering a vital package to defeat the enemy

  • Hospital Escape Terror (Two - four players)  15+

Set in a disused hospital, both players are trying to find their way out. One is then kidnapped and the race is on to save their partner!

Steve Burns, CEO of Hollywood Bowl Group said: “VR Zone Portal London at The O2 is a launchpad for bringing the fascinating world of virtual reality gaming to people on a larger and more accessible scale. We’re really excited to be at the forefront of this technology in the UK and can’t wait to open this exclusive experience to the public.”

“The O2 is already a world class entertainment hub so launching VR Zone Portal London in this fantastic venue is perfect in terms of being able to welcome London based customers as well as event guests.”

As part of a wider entertainment experience, visitors to VR Zone Portal London @ Hollywood Bowl at The O2 will also be able to enjoy bowling on one of the 12 computerised lanes or four exclusive VIP lanes as well as a huge selection of amusements.

There is also a full in-house bar, serving a range of delicious cocktails, wines and beers, certain to quench the thirst of avid gamers. For those who work up an appetite, the Hollywood Diner serves a selection of delicious American classics such as gourmet burgers, hotdogs, shakes and desserts.

The wider leisure experience is ideal for those seeking to organise a corporate party with an edge, and Hollywood Bowl offers a range of packages to suit http://www.hollywoodbowl.co.uk/groups-parties/premium-team-events
