In our quest to find another totally addictive puzzle game, we stumbled across Chillingo's "Cut the Rope HD", which is another tricky physics based game.
Under the surface the core idea of the game is to strategically slice varying different lengths of rope to get the candy into Om Nom's mouth. But what you don't realise is that there is some practical maths and logic behind the simple gameplay.
We should perhaps explain exact who or what Om Nom is as he is a vital piece of the puzzle... Om Nom is a ravenous green monster, with a very sweet tooth, Who appears on your doorstep in a cardboard box. Through the beautifully crafted levels and imaginative puzzles, you do grow to love the cute sweetie muncher and the boxes in which he makes his home.
Each level has the added achievement of collecting three gold stars, which are vital so you can progress through the boxes, like the cardboard, foil and gift boxes to name but a few. However, Chillingo have provide a number of embellishments to each level so you don't get bored. These include things like candy-pinching spiders who try to seal the candy from Om Nom, bubbles to float the candy skywards, gravity switches for those tricky moments in the cosmic box plus a whole heap of new gadgets which we are yet to come to grips with.
All of this combined with the life like pendulum physics provide the brilliant foundations for a game which will keep people entertained for hours.
However, we can here you all shouting that this game has been around quite a while but Chillingo continually launch new updates for the game i.e. http://www.crowdedbrain.co.uk/games/cut-the-rope-toy-box-update.html which means that the game just gets better and better and is well worth a look.
