 Chapura - an innovator of synchronization technology - has released KeyTasks for iPhone OS, offering owners of iPhone and iPod touch devices an easy-to-use and reliable way to carry Microsoft Outlook Tasks.
Similar to MobileMe and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, KeyTasks allows users to wirelessly synchronize and manage Outlook Tasks from anywhere.
KeyTasks is installed on the device, not run from the Web, allowing task management even when a data connection is not available. When a data connection is available KeyTasks can wirelessly synchronize with Chapura’s Web servers.
This is commonly referred to as the "cloud." When a change is made in Outlook or on the device and synchronized, that change is sent up to the cloud. The iPhone, iPod touch or Outlook Tasks will receive this change when synchronized; keeping information current in multiple places from anywhere.
KeyTasks offers the following benefits to iPhone and iPod touch users:
- Wireless synchronization: Using 11 years of Microsoft Outlook synchronization experience, KeyTasks provides an over the air synchronization between Microsoft Outlook Tasks, the Chapura Web server and an iPhone or iPod touch. The only addition requirement is an internet connection.
- Native handheld task application: KeyTasks was designed from the ground up for the iPhone and iPod touch. It utilizes the unique features and elements of the iPhone and iPod touch, to provide a fluid continuation of the iPhone user experience.
- Secure data transfers and encrypted storage on our servers: Information is protected with a secure transfer process and encryption on our servers. Chapura cannot decrypt or view users’ information.
- Does not require Microsoft Exchange Server: KeyTasks uses its own desktop client and servers so it will work with or without a Microsoft Exchange Server.
- Category synchronization and grouping is coming soon.

KeyTasks is a subscription-based product available for a special introductory offer of $9.95 per year in the iPhone App Store.
