Code Red Systems - a leading developer of command and control software for wireless networks - has unveiled the latest version of their AirStop Endpoint Security software including some significant enhancements!?
The new version, dubbed the AirStop - Sticky Wireless Edition, features their 'Sticky Wireless' technology which forces users to 'stick' to a particular wireless network and
prevents connection to unauthorized wireless networks.
The software is used to enforce corporate wireless security policy by enabling system administrators to define one or more authorized secure networks. Mobile users are then forced to connect to the authorized networks and will be disconnected if an attempt is made to connect to an unauthorized wireless network.
The market need for Sticky Wireless was first brought to Code Red's attention by PCS Security, a well known provider of data security solutions in Asia.
It seems that in places where there are municipal WiFi networks with extensive coverage, corporate users find themselves connecting to insecure public networks, rather than their own secure corporate network. The solution to this problem called for a way to make sure that users connect only to secure corporate wireless networks and prevent connection to unauthorized insecure networks.
The AirStop - Sticky Wireless Edition software, including the anti-bridging technology, is currently available on a 30-day trial basis from most major software download sites.
A trial version of the enhanced AirStop Server for management and tracking of all adapters across the enterprise is available directly from Code Red and its authorized distributors.
