PhotoBox launches new app - Social Fab

PhotoBox has announced the launch of Social Fab, a new social app from one of the leading online communities for photo printing, sharing and personal publishing. Social Fab is designed to enable anyone with a Facebook account to instantly create personalised merchandise bringing the online and offline worlds together. The app links directly to the user’s Facebook account, turning their own or their friends’ uploaded photos into unique products.

Initial offerings include t-shirts featuring a mosaic of friends’ profile photos or a QR code that activates Facebook friendships when scanned with a mobile phone, and coffee mugs emblazoned with a selection of pictures of your circle of friends. Using its expansive customer research and online community, PhotoBox has identified new groups amongst its user base and split out into the following four categories:

- Motographers are connected all day, every day and love to share their experiences on the fly using mobile photography apps

- Eventographers focus on sharing specific events such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and school and community activities

- Profileographers are the creative experimenters of the digital photography world, expressing their personalities through their photographs

- Professionals are mentors and advisers, passionate about sharing their skills and experience with a new generation of photographers

PhotoBox is opening up the Social Fab beta to the public so users can start experimenting with creating their own personalised merchandise on the fly, as well as suggesting new products to incorporate into the line-up. Already scheduled to be added are posters of individual Facebook photos, complete with comments, and bags that showcase users’ top 20 favourite Facebook photos.

To start developing your custom product line, just go to https://apps.facebook.com/social-fab-uk and get designing. The finished products will be shipped within 3-5 working days and PhotoBox will post pictures of the most creative wares on the Social Fab Facebook page.
