For those who don't know viewranger is designed for mobile phones running the symbian operating system and combined with a GPS unit and Maps you can use your mobile to navigate. At first the maps were limited to the GB National parks and Lake District , but now you can choose your own mapping - espcialy useful if you do a bit of mountain biking in other areas and want to map your routes.
The pack is called ViewRanger YourMap.
ViewRanger YourMap includes the ViewRanger software, PDF user documentation, 1:1M miniscale map of UK, plus map data for the area(s) you select. Pricing starts at just £20 for up to 500 sq km of 1:25,000 scale or up to 10,000 sq km of 1:50,000 scale mapping.
Choose your own mapping areas with its select tool, that lets you select unlimited areas of mapping. Based on a grid, you can choose any grid squares you like - so you can pick an area in Sussex and areas in Scotland all in the same map. The tool interactively shows you the expected disk size (so you can make sure it will fit on your phone memory card) and the cost for your specific map selection.
