Description
All the products we get in to review are normally compared or run on our test PC - which we ourselves use day-in-day-out. For this review we simply walk through each of the components that are housed in our server case (which we call Goliath), followed by some benchmark results.
Our Test PC is made up of the following spec....
Main Board: MSI P4N SLI, which features Dual DDR2 667 mhz support, 1066MHz FSB, Dual PCI Express x 16 slots, integrated 7.1 Audio - which we don't use - integrated GB Lan, two PCI slots and Dynamic overclocking.
CPU/Fan: We use a 3.2Ghz prescott CPU (800 Mhz FSB) with the above board mainly because it does not support Core2 Duo - but does the job for our test puposes fine. Coupled with a Zaward CPU cooler - reviewed

Graphics Card: Also used is an Nvidia 7800GTX Graphics card with 256MB Ram.
Mem: 2 x 1GB Kingston Hypermemory which runs at 667Mhz but has been verified to run at speeds of 900Mhz.

Hard Drive: 1 x 160Gb SATA Drive
Sound Card: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Zs
Monitor: 18" LG LCD with native res of 1280 x 1024. NEW we have just added the
Hanns-G HG216DP 22" Widescreen display to the list which has a max res of 1680 x 1050.
Case: An old Server case which has plenty of space inside for adding 5 x 5.25" drives, 1 x Floppy and 6 x Hard Disks.
OS: Windows XP Pro with SP2
Benchmark: *We used 3DMark 06, PC Mark 05 and Quake 4 to benchmark our PC, these scores will then be used when comparing other products - so this is the score to beat. Results can be seen in the image Gallery below.
*For Quake 4 we used HardwareOC Benchmark software which you can get
here and ran the time demo twice on our test monitors 1280 x 1024 res. Also installed were Nvidia Forceware 93.71 Drivers, 3D Mark 06 1.0.2 and PC Mark 05 1.2.0.
