If your virtual Xmas stocking was not already full with Games/Movies Microsoft are now launching their biggest Xbox sale ever. The sale will offer 17 days of deals on hundreds of games, movies & TV shows and apps.

Major Nelson (of Xbox fame) has announced the latest crop of games to be given away free to Xbox One and 360 owners in the January Games with Gold program. I have to say the latest batch contains some impressive titles, possibly some of the best I’ve seen on the program.

Have your tickets ready, as the journey of the Ecliptic Express in Resident Evil 0 begins January 19th 2016! Now remastered, the game will be equipped with fully enhanced visuals and sound effects, bringing its spine-chilling terror to a whole new level.

Forgetting the strong competition from Sony for a minute, it looks like Microsoft's console still celebrated a solid Black Friday Performance. This was partially thanks to a combination of a strong line-up of exclusives*, the New Xbox One Experience complete with Backward Compatibility, and an extensive line-up of console bundles. All of which drove record Xbox One sales in the U.S alone** and Xbox Store sales worldwide; with record engagement from Xbox fans around the world*** over Black Friday week.

Major Nelson has announced the upcoming games - in December - for those in the Games with Gold program (Xbox One/360). In December, 5 Games will be on offer and because the Xbox One can now play all future 360 Games with Gold titles, thanks to the newly launched Xbox 360 compatibility mode, the latter Xbox One owners can take full advantage of all the titles.

One of the biggest boosts to Microsoft's E3 show this year was the announcement of Xbox 360 backwards compatibility for the Xbox One. Having personally seen this in action I can happily say it's a feature that works exceptionally well! You can see the video below of my first adventures with this.

If you are one of the early adopters of the Kinect for Xbox One you may be able to dust off the cobwebs and put your dancing shoes back on as it's another year and another update to the Just Dance series in the form of Just Dance 2016 (JD 2016 for short).

Major Nelson has announced November's Games with Gold titles for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. However because the NXOE update is arriving on the 12th of the month Xbox One owners will also be able to utilise all the games on offer; thanks to the Xbox 360 Compatibility mode - see below for a glimpse of this in action.

With the Season Finale of Tales from the Borderlands due out on the 20th of this month (October for those who read this at a later date) the devs have celebrated by releasing Episode One: Zero Sum for free. It will be available to download on consoles and mobile devices.

With just a couple weeks to go until the highly-anticipated return of Guitar Hero, Activision Publishing, is kicking off the launch for Guitar Hero Livewith the release of a new live action trailer starring James Franco and Lenny Kravitz (which you can see below).

Bungie and Activision has announced that Destiny: The Taken King broke the record for the most downloaded day-one game in PlayStation history and set a new day-one franchise benchmark for both total players and peak online concurrency, surpassing the original Destiny launch day last September, which was itself the biggest new video game franchise launch in history.

Ubisoft, in collaboration with Disney Interactive, has announced the development of Just Dance: Disney Party 2, the second Disney title from Just Dance, one of the best-selling* music video game franchise of all time. This news comes just days after Disney fans got a sneak peek of the game at the D23 EXPO 2015.

Konami Digital Entertainment has released a playable demo of PES 2016, which should be available via all digital services. PES 2016 stormed this year’s gamescom event where visitors to Europe’s largest consumer gaming event queued to get hands-on time with the acclaimed title and where a respected jury awarded the new game with its coveted ‘Best Sports Game’ award for the second year running.

2K has today announced the debut of 2015 WWE Hall of Fame inductee and global action film icon Arnold Schwarzenegger in WWE 2K16, the forthcoming release in the flagship WWE franchise. Best known for his acting, bodybuilding and political endeavours, Schwarzenegger, a longtime WWE fan and WWE Hall of Famer, will expand his relationship with WWE through WWE 2K16 with two playable characters – T-800 from The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Dayfilms.

If you have played any of the previous Lego titles from Tt Games then you will already be ready to play Lego Jurassic World as soon as you get past the intro credits. However as movie tie-in’s go this one is a real cracker! Surprisingly -despite the title - you get to play through the first three films as well and in any order!

2K has announced that NBA 2K16 will feature the most extensive soundtrack in NBA 2K history with three genre-defining collaborators at the helm - legendary hip-hop producer DJ Premier, renowned producer DJ Khaled, and rap/pop producer DJ Mustard.

Summer is usually a quiet time for gaming as people go away on holiday, however for those who still like to get their fix and happen to own an Xbox One or Xbox 360, you will be pleased to know Microsoft have another ultimate games sale going, with some big discounts on previous top selling titles.

At this year’s E3 Xbox Briefing I have to admit what stole the show for me was the news that Microsoft has managed to crack the problem of Xbox 360 compatibility on the Xbox One and they are releasing the feature later this year!

It’s hard to believe that June is just around the corner, but this means a few more freebies for Xbox Live Gold Members. 

On 2nd June, the third DLC pack (Supremacy) for Call of Duty (COD): Advanced Warfare from Activision and Sledgehammer Games, will be available first on Xbox Live (Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles), with other platforms to follow.
