Hauppauge Digital has released a twin tuner Freeview add-on card for Windows PCs called The Hauppauge WinTV Nova-t 500 and priced at £99.99 inc VAT. It will allow owners to watch one Freeview programme whilst recording another, or to record two programmes simultaneously.
The Nova-t 500 is forward compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista, which will include media capabilities in its home user versions.
The new card uses the latest silicon tuners to provide enhanced picture quality, faster scanning and operation, and lower power consumption.Included with the package comes its own TV viewing software, allowing any Windows XP user to watch /record TV and access a 7-day programme guide (EPG). Also included is a remote control.
The coolest part of the Nova-t 500 comes from the inclusion of Hauppauge's WingSE software, which enables recorded TV to be transferred onto Sony PSP devices and video iPods. The software optimises the recordings to save space on the target device, whilst utilising its maximum display capabilities.
