Plustek - a company who specialise in imaging and communication products - has announced the TVcam VD100, a TV tuner that enables users to watch TV on their notebooks while on the move. It can also be used as a web camera and has a built-in microphone for live online interaction.
The TVcam VD100 has in-built DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial) technology and is designed to receive global DVB-T signals anytime and anywhere in the world.
It has an aesthetic, sleek and slim design in a silver casing and is highly portable, weighing just 86 grammes, making it an ideal gadget for long car journeys, business travellers and commuters.
Measuring just 67.5mm x 26mm x x25.5mm, the TVcam VD100 is designed to clip to the top of a notebook screen.
With the TVcam VD100, you can record your favourite digital programmes and watch them later. Programmes can also be paused and re-started as they are being viewed. You can also surf through the included EPG for programme lists for more information or to switch channels.
The product can also double as a compact webcam for live web chats and has a 640 x 480 (VGA) resolution. Additionally, a single frame can be taken from a programme at any point and saved as a jpeg, png or bmp file.
As well as the scheduled power-up recording and a time shifting function, the TVcam VD100 also has simple user interface making it easy to programme and use.
