D-Link has launched the DPR-1260 4-Port Wireless (802.11g) Multifunction Print Server.
Developed to provide performance and flexibility, the DPR-1260 provides four USB ports for four printer connections, which enables users to add multiple printers, multifunction printers, or scanners to the network. With simple configuration and high wireless network speed, the DPR-1260 will help to make it easy to share multiple devices over the network and reduces the time required to send
print jobs to the print server.
DPR-1260 offers wireless speeds of up to 108Mbps Turbo mode from any computer equipped with 2.4GHz frequency band wireless interface. The printer server also has an Ethernet port that can serve as a wireless bridge. This provides wireless connectivity for any Ethernet-enabled device, such as a computer, Digital Video Recorder (DVR), or Network-Attached Storage (NAS) to the network printers.
All shared devices attached to the DPR-1260 can print and scan at the same time, giving this multi-port print server a similar performance as 4 separate single- port print servers. Security has been addressed too, with the DPR-1260 providing the necessary security for wireless users, using the user-selectable 64/128-bit industry-standard WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) data encryption and
Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA-PSK, WPA-EAP).
It supports many network operating systems, including Windows and Linux. A quick installation wizard is also included to help users set up the print server and attached printers.
The DPR-1260 has a recommended retail price of £130.03 plus VAT.
