Linksys has announced the availability of a new router from its Business Series Product line: the Wireless-G VPN Router with RangeBooster (WRV200).
WRV200 is based on RangeBooster, a technology which is a compatible add-on to standard Wireless-G which increases the wireless network's range up to two times, and its throughput by up to approx 35%. RangeBooster uses two smart receivers at each end to detect and decode reflected signals at distances where standard technologies give up. RangeBooster can allow a range improvement even when running a mixed network of RangeBooster and regular Wireless-G devices.
Wireless-G VPN router with Rangebooster (WRV200) features
- The WRV200 includes a Virtual Private Network (VPN) feature to help secure mobile workers connections; multiple SSIDs (Network Name), with support for Wireless QoS (WMM) and wired QoS (port prioritisation).
- Security functions for authentication, encryption, and firewall. Additional security features includes enabling/disabling SSID Broadcast, MAC-based filtering, and Denial of Service (DoS) prevention.
- RangeBooster uses MIMO technology to increase range
- Multiple BSSIDs and VLANs to provide separate secure networks
- 10 IPsec QuickVPN tunnels with a throughput of up to 30 Mbps
- Enhanced QoS for both the wireless and wired network to provide improved quality for voice/video.
- 4-LAN ports and 4 SSID can be mapped to up to 5 VLANs
- Security: SPI Firewall, WPA2, 3DES, AES and 802.1x
The WRV200 is immediately available via the Linksys distribution and partner network. The Manufacturers Suggested Retail Prices is £49.99.
